Where would I find a BMW's timing alignment mark?

There should be a tab mounted on the timing cover with different degrees listed. Then there will be a groove on the balancer or pulley.

You best bet would be to purchase a service manual for the specific model of your BMW. These service mauals can answer most, if not all of your questions for a BMW's maintenance.

Since there are many BMW models, your best best would be locating a service manual for your specific car. Internet searches will produce cheap results; too, your BMW dealership will have these manuals for purchase and may have a quick answer at no cost.
