Many experiments are performed in experimental modules taken up on each Space Shuttle launch. These units are provided by the University or research group that wants the experiment done. There are also experimental labs on the International Space Station, though they are changed out less frequently. In rare instances, experiments are included on satellites as part of the equipment.

The Astronauts do their experiments inside the space probe they travel. They set labs inside the vehicle itself and with the help of telescope they watch the space objects and do all the experiments.

On a space station or space shuttle, there will be certain areas designated as laboratory spaces. The astronauts will have a variety of different types of labs, depending on whether they are on a space station or a shuttle, and each will be suitable for performing different types of research

They would not have the same type of lab that we have on Earth, as there is no gravity. They would have somewhere they would perform experiments.
