The best place to look is online. If you search online for "freelance jobs," you will find a very large number of listings - there are many sites that allow employers to post projects for freelancers. Keep in mind that some of these sites are free for potential workers to use whereas others will charge you a monthly fee.

Freelance projects are posted on a variety of website, on particular one is craigslist. You could go their and search for some freelance assignments.

Often on-line/printed "trade" journals/magazine/publications contain free-lance projects in their respective fields. You can try "reading-between-the-lines" in full-time employment advertisements and featured articles to see if they might hire a free-lancer.

Try your local unemployment agency. Some of them have a bulletin board, or computers you can search for freelance jobs. Ask the employees there for help.
