When I convert a powerpoint to wmv video the sound is not converting, what could I be doing wrong?

You need to make sure the sound files are saved in the same locastion as the .ppt file. If not, the sound will not transfer when you convert to wmv.

You may need to either update or install a new converter program to allow the process to function properly. Some of the older programs are unable to handle the different file types, and can be very frustrating. The newer programs also auto locate files that may have been separated in your computer as well, which does happen sometimes.

The sound may not be a windows movie compatible format and may need either a conversion program or a codec applied to the movie file to make it work.

In power point the embedded sound is a separate file. You can use Windows Movie Maker to add sound to your video. Import your video and import the sound files into Movie Maker. Then place the video on the time line. Place the sound beneath the part of the movie where it belongs.

This because it doens't transfer the embedded file sound, use Windows Movie Maker to add the sound after you turn it into a video file.

Instead on embedding the sound, you will have to record the sound so that PowerPoint owns it. Go to Insert - Sound - Record Sound.

while converting we have to use the proper software and then all the text, video, photo and sound has to be converted using proper software.

A trick that always works in such a situation would be to switch the powerpoint presentation to autoplay mode and use a screenrecorder that supports sound to capture the hole presentation with sound. The 321 SOFT recorder for example should be able to do that. The one from the screen recorder studio as well.
