There is a middle ground on chewable medicine as well, which can be used for children over 3 because of the chocking hazard. To swallow a pill is usually around 10 years old, but this completely depends on the child. Some prefer the pill and can handle it much earlier, though some much later.

Around age six or seven you can start with chewable tablets, then transition to pill medicine any time after that, but expect your child to be taking pills by the time they are 12. At that time they will require adult doses it your child is still taking childrens medicine they may not be getting sufficient dosage.

Most companies make chewables for a certain age group. Once they can chew a medicine like that, they should be able to take it.

Children will be ready for medicine in the pill form at different times, but generally not until they are about 12 years old. Be careful, because most medicine in pill form is formulated for adults, so always get your doctor's advice before administering any medication to your child. Liquid madicine contains the same active ingredients as pills.

This really depends on the child, but they tend to move from liquids to chewable pills around 6 or 7. Then, they move from chewable to regular pills around 10-12.

Liquid medicine is intended for use by all ages. Not all people are able to take pill medications. However, around the age of 7 or 8 would work.

I would assume at the age listed on the product label, also, as directed by a physician and when the parents and child feel comfortable taking a pill for medication.
