"Middle age" fiction is fiction written for ages eight to twelve. Not to be confused with young adult fiction which is written for ages 12 and up.

Middle grade fiction is written for younger kids, around age 10-12. Older kids may still find it enjoyable, but it is meant for those kids in their younger pre-teen years.
