They're all oral contraceptives with only a slight difference in makeup. Yasmin contains 20 mcg of ethinylestradiol. Yasminelle and Yaz contain 20 mcg. All three contain 3 mg of drospirenone.

Yaz and Yasmin both contain estrogen and progesterone. The inactive pills create a difference between the two, since the inactive cause the side effects. Yaz contains 24 active - 4 inactive, Yasmin contains 21 active - 7 inactive. So, both pills work the same, but Yasmin has more side effects.

They are both essentially the same pill, but the amount of estradiol (a hormone) is lower in Yaz. Also, some women report different side effects after taking both pills.

Yasmin has a total of 24 pills and can make the menstrual cycle last longer, sometimes twice as long. Yaz has 21 pills and cuts down on the menstrual cycle time. Yaz also has smaller amounts of estrogen than Yasmin does. It is said that Yaz is also better for acne control, but it affects all women differently.

I have found that Yaz helps with pms, it also shortens the time that you have your period, and helps with acne. Yasmin also seems to have more side effects.

They are essentially the same medication with different percentages of the same main ingredients. They carry the same side effects and warnings.

There is no difference. The birth control made by that company was known as Yaz at first. They misrepresented their product in their commercials, the government told them they had to fix that and once they did they changed their name to Yaz. They're hoping a new name will get rid of the bad publicity.
