Perhaps you should try Audacity. It has all the basic functions and effects (for example echo, fade in/out and tempo). It works with Windows, Linux and Mac OS. Audacity is also available in many languages, so you can always download a different language pack for it, if you do not want to use it in English.

A good recording software is audacity. It works great to be honest. I haven't found a better software on the internet for recording. It also makes you sound really good. You can add some effects to your voice to make yourself sound really good. It's an awesome software so it's great.

A good sound recording software is Audacity, it's open source and so it is totally free! If you'd like to capture on screen video, I'd suggest you to use Camstudio, which also is open source. Just search for them on Google. Working with them should be pretty straight-forward. Good luck!

Many people who do digital audio recording use the Audacity software. It's free, fairly straightforward, and reliable. However, it requires the LAME codec to save recordings as .mp3s.

Audacity is one of the most popular and simple freeware recording programs. Other great freeware includes Linux MultiMedia Software, Ardour, and Kristal.

There is a built in audio-recorder in Windows. Start>All Programs>Accessories>Sound recorder (in vista)... but that can only record audio in mono. For a full fledged somewhat professional but still easy software, try AudioGrabber. Its free and good!

Audacity is excellent open source recording software. It is one of the most popular programs from the sourceforge community (sourceforge. net). Both the current version and the beta version are stable. Open source software is "free" in the sense of "freedom. " It is nice to give a donation to the programmers if you like the product.
