What's a good fence post wood?

Oak? Pine?

White oak is a good rot-resistent wood. Pine tends to warp and discolor. Cedar is very durable for fences. Overall, I would suggest oak. If you're making this yourself with lumber on your land, definitely go for the white oak.

Oak is probably a better wood, but I prefer pine simply for the much, much lower cost. If you don't care about looks, I would actually suggest good quality plastic.
