Teapot Dome was public land in Wyoming that had operating oil wells on it in the 1920s, when the Secretary of the Interior (under President Warren G. Harding) accepted bribes to lease it at very low rates to certain oil companies. The biggest Presidential Administration scandal before Watergate.
