To become a licensed child psychologist, you must get a doctorate in clinical psychology. A doctorate can take up to eight years to earn. The training includes both formal classes and hands-on clinical experience. To be accepted to graduate school, you must have at least some background in statistics as statistics are used a lot in academic research.

You'll need at least a master's degree in psychology or a related field. After completing a clinical practicum, all that's left is passing your state's licensing exam.

You will need to get a degree in psychology, but your concentration would need to be in child psychology. You will follow that up with a doctorate, and then you will either start your own practice, or get a job with a school as the psychologist. That would be the easiest way.

You have to obtain a doctoral degree in psychology, and then pass board and licensing examinations. It takes a long time and is a lot of work.

the normal path to this career is to complete first a degree in psychology from a college program, followed by graduate work with a speciality in child psychology. Writing the APA and requesting information from them would lead you to the best graduate program for this career goal
