It depends what kind of microwave you have, and how clean it is. I, personally, would not pay more than $25 even for a high-end model at a garage sale. You have to remember that brand new microwaves start at about $40. I think $10 or $15 for most models is a pretty good price.

People don't really want to pay alot of money at garage sales so either way if it's a good brand or not my best estimate for a fair condition and regular brand microwave would be in the range of $15 to $20.

Microwaves are no longer expensive appliances. You can sometimes find a brand new microwave for under $20. For this reason, you should not pay more than $10-$15 for a used microwave at a garage sale, unless it is an industrial strength, extra large microwave for a professional kitchen. If it's really old, don't even buy it.

If the microwave is still in good condition you can expect to sell it for approximately 25% of the original cost. If it is has visible damage or discoloration you can ask about 15% of the original cost.
