What should I know about the thermocoupler in my gas fireplace?

The thermocoupler is the valve that is attached to the thermostat and thus controls the rate of flow of the gas to the fire. They can often get out of whack but have a safety release valve so they can't explode or anything. Don't worry about it unless you can't adjust the flames... then hire a repairman.

the thermocoupler should be always kept cleaned and it should be put in the right place as given by instructed in the manual.
