Minoxidil (Loniten) is a prescription drug used to treat very high blood pressure. It is taken in pill form. However, minoxidil is also marketed over the counter as Rogaine. It is believe to slow or halt the process of balding. Hair regrowth may happen. It is used as a topical application.

You should know, as in taking any drug, there could be some side effects from taking Minoxidil. One of those side effects include itchy scalp, due to the alcohol in the product. You could also experience facial swelling or allergic reactions. Check with your physician if you have side effects.
