The most important part of this process is making sure you have it slightly below the surface of the basement. The plumbing underneath must also always run at a slight downslope. Grouting the area is very important to make sure it empties into the drain and not beneath the basement floor.

You will want to use a grouting tool to get all the mortar around the tile out. Then smash the tile to remove the pieces. Mortar in the new piece.

If you basement is already completed you will need to break up the flooring to dig to the footer. After this is done your drain tile will be laid in the trench and topped with gravel, dirt and flooring. Your water will need someplace to go a like a sump pump.
