Identify where the leak is, find the suitable materials to fix the leak. Sometimes this can be as simple as a hammer and nails. or worse case scenario, call a roofer to help fix the leak-could lead to more damage.

If you're referring to a water leak into a light fixture, you need to address the cause and determine from where it came. There's no sense in replacing the fixture- it's a symptom. Is your roof failing, or do you have ice dams building up? You need to evaluate, is this a quick fix or a new roof come spring.

If you have aleak in your attic it can cause several different problems. You absolutley must fix this. The leak can cause mold to grow which can make you sick. You will need to have a professional come out and give you an estimate, if this is not done correctly it can cause problems.

You can add more insulation (either the loose-fill type or fiberglass batts) or fill holes with silicone caulk or spray foam.

First, you must chew some bubble gum. Then, you must deftly form the bubble gum into a "wad." Then you must form the wad to the parameters of the leak.
