First make sure that they are downhill of your pool area, or positioned on sand or gravel, or else you will get dirty runoff water into your swimming pool. They pick a wood that has been sealed to prevent water damage to build the raised beds.

You should not put them too close to the pool because you do not want the dirt geeting tracked into or blown into the pool. You want a lot of color to counteract the pale pool color.

The first thing you need to consider is drainage. You don't want water draining from your gardens into the pool. The second thing I would consider is foilage. You may want to position your gardens so that leaves, seeds and other plant pieces are not falling in the pool.

Consider the chance of splashing. You don't want to put a raised bed too close to a pool because chlorine in the water can severely damage your plants and flowers.
