hinduism is a generic name given to the culture of the Indian subcontinent. it is more of a way of life than a religion. there are no fixed books to follow, though there are many for general guidelines like the Gita, Vedas and Upanishads.

That is a complex question, as Hinduism has many variations according to location and tends to be tied to culture and custom more than beliefs. Nearly Hindus believe in reincarnation, multiple gods who are part of the same One, and Dharma (ethical duties).
