The US dollar is accepted everywhere in Jamaica. Most prices are posted in US dollars instead of Jamaican dollars. You can use major credit cards (Mastercard, Visa, American Express) in retail outlets, but be prepared to pay cash in local markets.

Jamaica has its own money, called the Jamaican Dollar. In the 1800's, Jamaica began to mint its own money. You get around 85 JD for one US dollar.

They use Jamaican dollars and coins, with denominations very similar to US currency. Some places there do accept US currency, though it is better to exchange your money anyway.

Jamaicans use the Jamaican dollar. It is abbreviated with the dollar sign. 1 US dollar equals approximately 85 Jamaican dollars. They use coins and banknotes.
