What kind of incision can I expect from an appendix removal?

Usually with this kind of surgery, there are four very small incisions made. They are around your belly button, one on each side of it, and then one above and below it.

If it has not ruptured, they can usually do laproscopic surgery, usually 2-3 1 inch incisions. If it has burst, they normally have to open up a large portion of the abdominal cavity to clean out the "gunk" in an attempt to stop infection. I'm betting on the former option, if you are able to write this question.

This willl depend on who is removing your appendix. You can actually discuss with your doctor the approximate location of the incision. Expect a scar roughly 4-5" long. It will disappear over time and should be barely noticable. I have heard of surgery centers that can extract an appendix thru a belly button!

Appendectomy is the procedure done, incision will be made at the right lower part of your abdomen , 5cm right lower side of umblicus. It is a minor surgery. Not a big issue.
