Telescope fish have very poor eyesight. Therefore, they need to be kept in aquariums or tanks that have minimal decorations, particularly ones that protrude, are sharp or that have low contrast. Additonally, they should be housed with complementary, non aggressive fish, as their sight limitations make them ill-equipped to sense danger or defend themselves.

Telescope fish is a fish with bulging eyes and weak eye sight and should be kept alone with its own species or with similar non-aggressive fish with frequent water changes and clean water because they prone to infections of the eye and should be well cared for to prevent infections.

Telescope fish are deep water fish that live in all oceans of the planet, in a depth range of 500 to 2000 meters. If you can make sure the water temperature is constantly held below 50 degrees Fahrenheit (12 degrees Celsius) they will be just fine.
