Xylene is a type of paint thinner that will leach inks from prints. It can be used to make transfers from toner based copies. Xylene is very effective, but is also very toxic. It's a known carcinogen and should be used only with the proper ventilation. There are some safer non-toxic transfer methods too.

Xylene is a checmical that is simliar to paint thinner. It has the same principals and breaks down thicker paints and resins. Xylene would be used to clean brushes.
