What is wrong if my aquatic turtle won't eat?

Most turtles are very fussy and several factors will affect their appetites. Make sure the temperature of the water and the tank itself is where it should be. After you do this, make sure that you are offering your turtle a variety of food options: lettuce, carrots, live insects, etc.

Aquatic turtles who won't eat he may have a bacteria infection due to unclean water. Place your turtle in observation container with a dry basking area. Purchase a broad spectrum antibiotic to administer (pet store) and re-offer small amounts of food. Return him to tank once he is eating well.

nothing, unless it is a persistant condition. Turtles only eat when hungry, and often go a week between feedings, right now my turtles have slowed down because of the season, and the lowered night time temperatures, and will eat less and less till they stop.

Check the tempurature of the water, it should be around 75 degrees. If the turtle is too cold, it won't eat. Chances are your turtle is probably sick. It may have a respitory problem or a bacterial infection from dirty water. I suggest seeing an exotic animal vet before it's too late.

It could be any number of things that would cause a loss of appetite in an aquatic turtle. Anything from water quality to temperature change to internal parasites could possibly cause your turtle to stop eating. The only way to tell for sure is by taking your pet to a local veterinarian who deals with reptiles.

If your aquatic turtle is sick then it might not eat. If you take your turtle to a vet specializing in turtles then you can find out what possible specific problems there might be and your turtle might recover.

I hav 2 turtles and its been two months since theve ate.and everything i give them they dont eat it.what can be wrong with them?
