Many crock pots have the advantage of having a warm setting. This maintains food at a 160 degrees to 165 Fahrenheit. This keeps food warm, but is usually not used for direct cooking.

The warm setting is used after the cooking time is over, in case there is still time to wait until serving. This setting will NOT warm up leftover foods.

You use the "warm" setting to make sure that your food from yesterday is ready to eat when you come back today, heated to about 150 deg. F.
