What is the value of an 1861 coin that is marked "Eire?"

I found it in my dad's things. Not sure where he got it.

A coin marked Eire, is most likely the Irish Pound. You can measure it's value in face value which is 0 as the Irish pound was replaced by the euro. Any silver in it could make it more valuable. Numismatically it could be valued based on rarity.

In some respects this coin has been valued at well over one thousand dollars. This is of course all speculative to value and what collectors would be willing to pay for such a rarity.
