The coin's value would depend on the year and state. Recently, a 5 cents 1953 shoulder fold coin was offered for $23, a 50 cents piece of 1953 for $20.

The value of both a canadian coin with a shoulder fold and a coin without a shoulder fold is one cent.

Generally, the value of the coin if new, is the same as it's face value. Different places will trade in at different prices, so check at your nearest coin shop.

The value of the coin would also depend on the year, denomination and state. For instance, a 5 cents 1953 shoulder fold coin was recently offered for approx. $23, a 50 cents piece of 1953 for $20. Proof coins of 1954 are much more expensive: a proof-like set was recently offered for $695.
