What is the story of the Greek goddess Aphrodite?

Aphrodite is popularly known as the Greek goddess of love and beauty. She rose from the foam of the sea, on a large shell, after Cronos castrated his father Uranus and his blood fell into the sea. She was dressed and taken by the Graces to Mt. Olympus. Zeus married her to Hephaestus, the god of fire and volcanoes.

She arose from the foam of the sea, enchanting everyone. She incited feelings of love and lust. Paris chose her in the story of the Golden Apple over Hera and Athena. Aphrodite rewarded Paris for giving her the Golden Apple by giving him the love of Helen of Troy, a mix blessing as it led to the Trojan War.

There are multiple stories involving her, however basically she is the goddess of love. Her husband is the god of the forge, who has a lame foot. She was instrumental in most things involving love and beauty.
