My vote goes to "Puff the Magic Dragon." Okay, so it might have a weird drug connotation, but at it's heart its about an imaginary friend being left all alone after a child grows up and never comes to play with him anymore. I cry every time I hear it.

I nominate "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". It is not only a beautiful song, but, in my opinion, very sad. The song tells of a yearning for a happy life, free from care, that is obviously missing from the singer. This song puts "blue days" into words.

i say that concrete angel is the saddest song because its about a girl who gets beaten to death by her mother...
