well, genetics determines a lot of things, including heredity. Sometimes if your mother had a certain disease associated with her hormones, then obviously it could be passed down to you. For example, if your mother had a cyst in her ovaries or something similar, then there is a chance it could happen to you.

Different parts of your DNA contain heredity traits. These traits are associated with hormones. A man can have higher levels of testosterone and can pass this along to his son.
