Depends on how bad the fracture is. Mine took 3 months. I rested,no aerobics or put any unnecessary stress on the foot. I spent alot of time in the pool.

A stress fracture of the foot should heal in less than 6 weeks if it remains immobilized during the healing time.

Any stress factor, foot, ankle, leg or even arm is going to take on average six weeks in a cast or splint and then another six weeks to six months of physical therapy. Physical therapy is necessary to re train the foot to walk properly in order to prevent future injuries.

The amount of recovery time varies greatly depending upon the location. If sufficient recovery time is allowed, bone mass eventually increases. Rest is the key element to recovery from a stress fracture. During that time, switch to aerobic activities that place less stress on your foot and leg. When running, a stress fracture in the leg will cause severe injury.
