Generally higher than 50 words per minute is considered "fast". So to calculate how many keystrokes per minute that would be, let's take an average word size as 4 letters. So 4 letters multiplied by 50 words per minute, is 200 keystrokes per minute.

The answer depends on your definition of fast. Typing speed is usually measured in words per minute. For the purposes of calculation, five keystrokes equals one word. Personally, I consider speeds in excess of 80 words per minute to be "fast". This would be equivalent to 400 keystrokes per minute.
