The McDougall diet is supposed to help people lose weight and boost health. Foods that are forbidden include any animal product, nuts, and refined grains. Foods that are emphasized are raw vegetables/fruits, beans, and whole grains. Vegetables with high starch content or that are green or yellow are encouraged.

It is one of the healthiest diets. It basically is a low fat vegan diet with a special two week programme.
