What is the humanistic theory?

I am going to be studying this in class next week and would like to learn a little more before discussing it in class.

The humanistic theory addresses the basic needs of humans. The humanistic theory looks at Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. That being said, this theory addresses that we need to address certain things before moving on to others (such as food and shelter before social issues)

Humanistic theory focuses on the basic idea that we are focused on taking care of ourselves and this drives all our actions. Abraham Maslow and Carl Rogers are the two main philosophers in this study.

The prevailing view in te early to mid twentieth century is that of behaviorism and psychanalylis.Later,humanists' theory was that human behavior is self-determined,which is a hopeful and constructive view.Nurture is a great influence in humanism.

In humanism, those who hold to this view do not believe that God is in charge of the world's affairs or the lives of humans. They often reject Bible doctrine.
