Removing your wedding ring is a sign that you are ready to move on. Therefore, it is much more sensitive to remove your ring too soon after a death than for another event such as a divorce. In general, it is proper to wait at least six months after your spouse's death to remove your ring.

This is not a matter of etiquette, but a matter of emotion. People remove their wedding rings when they feel able to.

This is Different Between Men and Women. Many Men remove their rings right away because they Dislike wearing Jewelry, Or because they feel hopeless. Women Normally Wait 6-18 Months before removing their rings. Its a sign that has a woman has moved on. Men are not the same .

This is of course a personal choice. However, according to tradition, set period of wearing the rineg are six months or a year. Some women wear them forever. Remember, though, it may be that the ring is too painful a memory, not that she does not or did not love him.
