A genie is a generally benevolent creature that grants wishes to whoever finds his lamp. A djinn is similar to a genie in terms of powers, but is a more malevolent creature and is not subject to granting wishes for someone else. A ghost is basically the spirit of a dead person.

A Genie and a djinn (arabic way of saying genie) are the same things. It is a spirit said to inhabit the earth and influence people by appearing in the form of humans or animals. A ghost is energy of a dead person who has somehow gotten stuck between this plane of existence and the next.
