Corn, or Zea mays, is a plant belonging to the cereal family Poaceae. It is a large herbaceous plant often growing 8 feet in height. Male and female flowers are distinct, male flowers being found at the apex of the stem and female flowers adjacent to the stem. The fruit is an important worldwide crop.
