$100 is currently the largest. Until 1969, $500, $1,000, $5,000 and $10,000 were printed, and the largest ever was $100,000 in 1934-35. Larger denominations facilitated bank transfers, but there are better ways to transfer funds.

The biggest dollar bill used now and printed is a hundred dollar bill. However, in the paste they have used bigger bills including $500, $1,000, $10,000 and $1,00,000. These are collector items now.

The US Government currently prints bills only as large as $100. In 1969 the larger $500, $1,000, $5,000 and $10,000 denominations were discontinued by the Federal Reserve and US Treasury. Most had not been printed since 1945 anyway.
