Good cheerleading dance music would be the new pop-rock sound. Songs like "OMG" by Usher and "Baby" by Justin Bieber seem to be really popular these days, and seem like great songs to make dances too, since they are so catchy and upbeat. Also Miley Cyrus, Taio Cruz, and Katy Perry are popular!

Any type of music with a strong beat, for example "Lip Gloss" by Lil' Mama. I would suggest looking through the Billboard Top 200 songs for inspiration.

Pretty much anything upbeat by Fergie or the Black Eyed Peas would work. You want something with a good beat and it's gotta be catchy. Lady Gaga would work too.
