Salvation is deliverance from danger or destruction. For true Christians it is deliverance from the present wicked system of things, as well as from sin and death. It is not a case of "once saved, always saved". The bible makes it clear that it is enduring faithfully till the end is what gains our salvation at Matthew 24:13.
