Roofing felt is a paper-like construction material frequently used to put a slanted roof on a building; it comes in rolls. A roof is built of rafters, sheeting, felt, and shingles, in that order. The felt provides an air and water barrier, and some amount of insulation. It is not air-tight; humidity can escape.

It is a material made out of felt which is used on the roofs of houses. It comes in rolls about three feet wide and it is rolled across the entire roof on top of the wood decking. The shingles are then laid on top of the felt.

It is a thick material available in various combinations of woolly substances, usually a mix of natural and synthetic fibres. It can be in sheets or strips. Its purpose is to insulate the roof underneath the outside tiles so that heat stays within the building and to add to the waterproofing of the whole building.
