If there isn't anything wrong with the TV after a power surge then there is no need for anything to be repaired, only makes sense. Just make sure that the screen is alright and that all of the features work on it or else i'd say just buy another one if it doesn't work.

Generally, the damage caused to a television by a power surge can't be repaired. What's more, you can hurt yourself trying. You're best off replacing the TV.

Well after a power surge, you may need to rewire your whole system. Make sure that all wires are connected back and forth.

It depends on your TV. A power surge sends a shock of electricity pulsing through your equiptment, making repair costs high as several components may need to be replaced. It may be worth buying a new television if the model you own is older. For future use, surge protectors are ideal for all expensive electronics and are fairly inexpensive.

Basically all you need to do is take out all the wires and outlets and replug the system. If it is working correctly, then it has survived the power surge.

TVs have a lot of very delicate electronics in them. When the power spikes, it can cause the circuits in the electronics to grow too hot and break - this causes the computer in the TV to basically become buggy or, more likely, useless.

After a power surge the key question is was your tv on and connected to the power. If so the sudden power loss can effect the tv. Unplug you tv and and wait for 10 seconds and try pluging it back in. If there is any effect on your tv it should show up at that time.

Components most likely to be damaged by power surges are digital microcircuits. Although TV power supplies are designed to smooth transients, a sudden spike could cause voltage overload in digital ciruits. It needs to be repaired by a factory-authorized repair center. It is unlikely you can repair it yourself.

It depends on what kind of TV and what the problem is. Is it the power supply? Bad image? Best bet is to take it into a professional for a look.
