A structure where each computer has a direct link to each computer, or "node" in the network that it needs to communicate with, in short each computer "speaks" directly to the node with which it needs to interact, rather than going through a central hub. It works well in a small setup where computers need to interact at high speed.

A network topology is the way how peers in a network are connected to each other. Peers can be computers, people, houses. In a mesh topology a peer is connected to all local neighbours, thus forming a mesh of connections.
