Different antibiotics are effective against different types of bacteria or germs. Triple Antibiotic is a combination of three medications, rather than just one. It contains Neomycin, Bacitracin and Polymyxin. Whether it is more effective depends on what you are treating with it. In many cases it is probably overkill, but consumers often feel "better safe than sorry. "

Triple Antibiotic is a topical ointment used to disinfect minor cuts, burns, and abrasions. This ointment contains three antibiotics: Neomycin, Polymixin B, and Bacitracin. And it's for external use only.
