What is "conflict diamond?"

A conflict diamond is the exact same thing as a blood diamond or a war diamond. Essentially these are diamonds that are mined in a war zone and are sold to pay for the war or violent activity. The term largely originates from conflict on the African continent where diamonds and violence are prevalent.

They are basically the same thing. It just means that the diamonds originate from areas controlled by groups that oppose their government and use diamonds to fund their military action.
