What is causing these horizontal lines on my TV screen?

I have an LCD large screen television, and there are very small horizontal lines across the display. What is causing it?

The cause of the horizontal lines may be due to the low resolution band width. Try and increase the band width to a higher resolution. High resolution is the definition of clarity. Higher the resolution clearer is the visual.

It's possible that it's your cable / satellite connection to the television. Many times, instead of static, you get faint wavy horizontal or vertical lines when the connection isn't great. Another possibility is that part of your television is going bad (the part that controls the screen size.)

They may be caused by a bad signal from your source (i.e. cable box. If you switch the source and you have the same problem, the panel could be bad.

The reason of horizontal lines across the display might be due to the mcp in the mother board placed at the back side of tv. OR with my opinion it can also be due to the moisture which can be through your wall.

This can be a number of issues. Have you checked your wiring? Perhaps your DVD player is touching something? Other electrical equipment can cause interference.

Often times scan lines and pixel dots are visible if you are not sitting far enough away from the TV. There are calculations to use to determine optimum viewing and reduce the appearance of lines. Try backing up and if you still see them, you should call the manufacturers tech support line.

I beleive that the horizontal lines on TV sets are due to the fact that they are aging. Over time TV screens start to deteriorate for a lot of different reasons. This problem can be fixed by getting a new TV.

The resolution of your TV must be very high so try sitting further away. The closer you sit near an LCD the more the picture would distort.
