It is that round and plastic container that is located under the hood. This allows for the transmission of gases and compression of airs, hence the name evaporator canister. You will find this in your hood due to its circular shape. It is usually connected to about three different hoses.

When the fuel goes into the engine the canister absorb the hydrocarbons and when the engine is started it mixes the air with fuel and then it sends the mixture into the engine's combustion chamber for burning.

An evaporator canister collects fuel fumes and pulls the hydrocarbons, a form of pollution, out of it. It does this using charcoal to absorb the hydrocarbons.
