It is a lesion, or kind of sore/blister on your gum. This can be caused by nutritional problems, a virus or infection and also by constant use of diet cola or sugarless gum. You need diagnosis, but for quick relief coconut oil warmed slightly can be instantly effective- don't use clove oil, that is for teeth and can be painful.

Gum ulcer is a type of mouth ulcer that occurs on the surface of the gums. They are very tiny in size but are mostly painful. It interferes with the normal eating habits and causes severe pain. It is generally advised to give an anesthetic medicated gel which should be applied two-three times daily.

An ulcer anywhere on the body results in what can basically look like a pit or cavity oozing fluid such as blood or pus. If it happens to be in the mouth, in the gum area, it probably started by a cut which became infected. It is very painful and once it spreads, it can affect the nerves of teeth.
