A guitar binding router is a router with a special bit made specifically to create binding for acoustic guitars and other instruments. They are generally of smaller size than your average table-top router assembly, but there are router jigs that are made for large size routers as well. The handheld variety is much more common for use with guitars.

A guitar binding router is a tool that is used for creating the channel around the edge of a guitar. The router carves the edges and main hole of acoustic guitars.

The bindings are the wood or plastic that go around the edges of a guitar body. The router is a standard electric power tool, that is set to cut a groove. Most guitar makers/repairers keep a router dedicated for routing bindings, set up is tricky.
