Actually called "Fire Blight", this fungus attacks Bradford pears. This fungus affects the leaves and fruit of the plant. The short term cure is carefully prune away the affected areas promoting more growth to the healthier parts of the tree.

The flowers and twigs of the Bradford pear wilt and turn brown and the whole tree may be lost. While Bradford Pear trees are ornamental, fruit crop trees are also heavily susceptible to this disease.
