What happened to the colonists to remained loyal to King George during the American Revolution?

Some "Tories" actually fought against the American armies. Most did not. Many had their property confiscated, though this was against the provisions of the peace treaty. Many moved to Canada.

After the war was over, many of these loyalists escaped to Canada or emigrated back to England. During the war, there were clashes between loyalists and patriots. But don't forget that the British controlled many parts of the colonies for much of the war.
